Children's Privacy

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act requires special protection for children under 13 while they are online. Our website has a page designed for kids under 13. Eagle Ridge Church of God must make sure that your parents know what sort of information are collect about children, and how that information is use. The Eagle Ridge Church of God does not collect or request information on anyone visiting our website including those under 13.

Basically you are free to visit the site and read any information that has been published by Eagle Ridge Church of God. The only time that we will ever get personal information about you is if you email us. In that case we will only use that information to respond if needed, but we will keep that information and not disclose it in any way.

More about the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act was enacted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and protects information about a child under 13 that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number other information that could help someone identify or contact the child.

The Act and Rule also cover other types of information such as hobbies, interests collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms when they are tied to individually identifiable information.

Under the Act, web sites targeted at children or that have actual knowledge that is has collected personal information from children under 13 must

bulletProvide notice of what information is collected and how it is done, and how information is used/disclosed.
bulletObtain prior parental consent for disclosure of personal information, with some exceptions.
bulletProvide reasonable means for the parent to obtain the information collected, edit, or delete it.
bulletNever condition participation in any game, prize offer, or other activity on child's disclosure of personal information than is "reasonably necessary" for participation.
