EAGLE RIDGE CHURCH OF GOD CANCELLATION/SHUTDOWN POLICY
SUNDAY CANCELLATIONS - SNOW
All activities at Eagle Ridge may be cancelled for Sunday morning if there is three inches of snow or more in the parking lot and the snow removal service has not started to plow by 7:30 a.m. This entails that one of the staff on forecasted snow events would have to be here around 7:00 a.m. to prepare for cancellation (or from home if capability is available). This decision is to be made by the senior staff member present.
Notification should be made to Praise Radio, Family Life Radio, Smile FM and WMPX. The electronic sign should be changed to reflect the closing, if someone is at the church with this ability.
All Sunday Morning activities at Eagle Ridge (may) be cancelled due to loss of electrical or water service. Cancellation procedures should follow those described above.
SATURDAY CANCELLATIONS – SNOW
If any activities are scheduled for Saturday at the church we will need to follow the same definition process as Sunday if parking lot plowing has not started 2 hours prior to the scheduled event.
Depending on the event type and size notification should be made to Praise Radio, Family Life Radio, Smile FM and WMPX. The electronic sign should be changed to reflect the closing, if someone is at the church with this ability.
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – Inclement weather (Snow, Ice etc)
If Midland Public Schools are closed due to weather, the building will also be closed and all scheduled activities will be cancelled.
Notification should be made to Praise Radio, Family Life Radio, Smile FM, and WMPX. The electronic sign should be changed to reflect the closing, if someone is at the church with this ability.
OTHER INCLEMENT WEATHER DAYS
On any days that National Weather Services issue severe thunderstorm warning, tornado warning, or other severe weather threat or the police department request that people stay off the city streets the building will be open as a severe weather shelter only.
No public notification of this is required.
BUILDING EMERGENCIES
When a building emergency occurs that would make the building of questionable ability to accommodate our family or make the building readily accessible to people it will be closed.
It will be at the discretion of the staff for the need and level of notification in these situations. If needed, depending on the event type and size notification should be made to Praise Radio, Family Life Radio, Smile FM, and WMPX. The electronic sign should be changed to reflect the closing, if someone is at the church with this ability.
